The regular season league champs are also the favorites to pack home the Craig Donaldson memorial trophy.

Behind the stewardship of Derek Mayson, the Lomas have it all; pitching, defense, and hitting.

With recent addition Ian Creamore and others, coupled with veteran leadership behind the plate in Mike Podmore, the Lomas will be tough to beat.

2:1

The Canadians have arguably the best pitching staff with Tyson Barkman, Brad Miller, and Jay Turner.

The question is; do they have enough depth to match the Lomas?

Look for a Mayson/Barkman battle on Sunday afternoon.

The most likely team to make a surprise showing in the final would be the always tough and surprising Surrey Rebels.

Depth is the issue with the Surrey club. Who will show up for playoff weekend? If all hands are on deck, then they have the pitching and power to surprise.

4:1

The “Hot tamale” has a tendancy to get a bit too spicy at times and surrender too many walks. If he can find the zone and get quality back up from country-man Martinez Fernando, they could ride their pitching a long ways.

However, there are some 50-year old knees in the infield and depth could be a hinderance.

The youngest team in the league was also one of the hottest coming down the stretch.

Coach Norm Pipke has assembled a well balanced group and will likely ride the young arm of Jonah Pipke in the circle.

But unless their young legs and speed becomes a factor, they’re likely to come up short.

Tom Yipp rarely fails to produce a competitive team in any tournament.

This years version of the Jazz is a nice mix of young talent and seasoned veterans.

With Caleb Coco and Robby Epp in the circle, coupled with their good defense, the Jazz will stay in most games.

However, do they have enough power to match up with the top teams?

Look for the Jazz to finish in the middle of the pack.

10:1

Ace pitcher Josh Anderson has proven many times that he can carry a squad all the way through a tournament, both with his pitching and his stick.

Do they have the bench to deliver the runs and defense needed? It will be a good test and a tough for the Langley crew.

20:1

Hopes were as high as Everest in mid-season as the club was maturing, and their pitching staff ranked among the leaders with Shawn Vandekerkhove, Murray Margolis, and Harv Weins.

However, recently it was announced that ace Vanderkerkhove will be unavailable has dampened thier chances.

Their pitching is still respectable, but coupled with a lineup sprinkled with newcomers and inexperience, they will likely be battling the Ladner Masters to avoid the “toilet bowl”.

50:1

With a full lineup, the Ladner Masters are capable of surprising many younger teams – however this may not be that time.

The Ladner squad is missing #1 thrower Miles Martinyk, #3 thrower Gord Frondall, and both their middle infielders.

Robbie Johnston and Russ Gray will be carrying the load in the circle.
