Canadians Sweep

Never trailed all weekend

With the score tied 2-2 for the final 3 innings, it looked like Derek Mayson and the Lomas might upset the undefeated Canadians and pull off another championship, but it wasn’t to be.

In the bottom of the 7th, the scrappy Richmond club managed to get 2 baserunners aboard before Yoshi Hikida (pictured) stepped to plate.

The veteran slugger didn’t dissapoint as he delivered a solid base hit up the middle to plate the winning run.

It’s the 2nd time in 3 years the Canadians have captured the Craig Donaldson Memorial trophy, but will they be able to repeat next year?

Rumour has it that slugger Scott Nehaj may wish to spend more time coaching his 12-yr old son, an outstanding young baseball player.
